I’ve come close to this more than once and one of the reasons in my opinion that his happens is because software development is just so tedious and slow. This affects some software engineers so badly, that they just have to make an exit and go back to basics.
Rob Farrell for example did exactly this.
I can really understand that with working with you hands in this way, that you can really see the fruits of your labor. But it needn’t have gotten this far, and this is partly the reason I wanted to start this project. And if it works out, free fruit (of labor) for everyone!
